Good to know
Every Korean day ends in 요일 (yoil), "day of the week". The first syllable is the part that changes, and each one comes from a natural element: the moon, fire, water, wood, metal, earth and the sun. Learn the seven elements and the days learn themselves.
To ask what day it is, say 오늘 무슨 요일이에요? ("What day is it today?"). In schedules and on signs you will often see just the first syllable in brackets, like (월) for Monday or (토) for Saturday.
